About Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical injectable treatment to replace volume loss, contour and correct age-related changes. Dermal fillers main ingredient is Hyaluronic acid which is known for hydration and anti-ageing properties. This substance is naturally occurring in the skin and found in abundance in our youth and as we get older it starts to diminish. By restoring Hyaluronic Acid to areas of the face that has volume loss gives a nice natural look.

Results last from 6-18 months.

Areas treated can be cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, lip lines and tear trough.

Does it hurt?

Discomfort is minimal during and after treatment. Topical anaesthetic cream is available, and the use of a cannula both help with comfort and minimise the risk of bruising.

How safe are dermal fillers?

The fillers I use are from reputable companies where they have been rigorously and extensively tested over many years.

Aesthetics By Complexions only use fillers that have evidence to support their safety profile.
You may experience minimal bruising, swelling and soreness at the entry site. This will resolve in a few days.

Who is unsuitable for dermal fillers?

Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive are not suitable for any cosmetic treatment.

Active herpes/cold sores present anywhere on the face are a contraindication to fillers.

Any previous sensitivity to any other dermal fillers would also contraindicate treatment.
